There should be lots of free alternatives that offer more options. Though I suppose you pay for the ease of use..

The amount of time it takes depends pretty much entirely on your system. Though I bet you won't be ripping and encoding an entire dvd in under 2 hours.

I've tried this makayama software, but the iPAQ version. It looks like it has the same interface as the Px00 version.

I found it to be adequate and simple to use and it did produce good results, but its not what I went with end

the support was excellent too, even though I was still only trialling the demo version. The guy usually got back to me within a few hours of me sending an email

bit more expensive but many more settings to get exactly the quality you want

I tested out the trial version and wasn't satisfied. The picture and sound were fine, but there were lots of times when it would skip and stall.
