> How to get spoken ringtones on your P900
Bookmark topic
In case no one has thought about this, I will post what I have done for many of my contacts.
To get awesome ringtones onto your P900, this is what you do. First download a text to speech program. You can use the trial for most programs for about 2 weeks. This is enought time to get your ringtones made up. You then type in what you want your phone to say for each caller that you want a personalized ringtone for. Such as, "John, your wife is calling from home" Anyways, most text to speech programs let you save the speech part as a .wav file. You then take this .wav file and use a .wav editing program and change it so that you increase the audio level and decrease the quality a little to keep the file small and loud. Then save it to your phone as a .wav and set the ringer to whoever you want it to use. I have my phone announcing the names of a number of callers, announcing when I have a voicemail, and some comic announcements for my mother in law and father in law.

you might also be able to save space on your phone by converting the wav to an mp3 file by using a program like musicmatch jukebox.

Yeah, i did that in july and its great. I recommend the AT&T text2speech software, it's the best one i've tried. It sounds just GREAT. at least in spanish, the woman's voice sounds like recorded. perfect. incredible.
The software is hard to use, actually there's no "program" to download, they just released the apis for using in your programs,... anyways, you can go to this site:
http://www.research.att.com/projects/tts/demo.html
and try an online demo that lets you write text and select the type of voice and language (and download the wav file right into your cellphone (Its cool to do that when you're bored in the bus)). The best voices in my opinion are: Rosa for Spanish and lauren for US English.
Well, hope that helped.
try the demo and tell me what you think. Im in love with that voices

or you could use the sound recorder already on the p900 and get the people to record their own voice for you??

Also, you can use voice dialing built into the p900 - open contacts, edit contact, record a voice dial.
Then, you can set options to make phone say the recorded "name" of the contact when they call you, eg "Vijay, God calling" etc... This way you get the recorded name first, then a normal rington (if you want one).
The ringtone method might be more flexible though, since you can use recorded sounds.
FYI - AT&T does have a desktop version of the software. You might have to "look around" for it though. The online version might just be neater tho, although i love having the computer read out harry potter etc..
