I really need HELP.
I've been at this for 5 days !!
I downloaded the Phone Monitor,the Package_1 1.5.9.2 and the IR Modem files.
I'm running WinXP Pro
shut down any program running in the background that may interfere
I start the installation my Infared sees my Cell phone correctly, I install XTnd Software, Phone Monitor pops up and finds everything.
and a Short cut Icon is created on my desktop called Dial up Networking Wizard
I click on this short cut
I create a new dial up conection & give it a name
I select GPRS
It says there is no sutiable Modem installed, shows the 3 options
IR,Blue Tooth and Cable
I click "install Modem"
Phone & Modem Option box pops up
I click "add" & "Next"
It does NOT find anything so I check "Don't Detect" and click "Next"
It finds options, Win drivers AND the IR DRIVERS I downloaded I pick:
Manufacturer= Ericisson Mobile Patforms AB
Models= Ericsson IR Modem Version 1.29 (29/09/2001)
I think the above one I choose is the driver I d/l from the Sony Site
The driver is not digitally signed (not too important i think ?)
Click next after highlighting the above driver
The timmer on the screen pops up and STAYS FOREVER (and a day !)
= One FROZEN Computer !!
HELP PLEASE
I have done many searches but I could not find this problem

I would guess either the modem files are bad(did you open the .inf file and see that it has the right stuff in it?), or the IR COM port has a conflict with your mouse.

When it gave you 3 choices IR/Bluetooth/Cable why didn't you just click IR?

If you don't have MS Outlook (not Outlook Express) or don't intend to sync with MS Outlook, remove XTND and phone monitor.

Perhaps you should install the modem script first before running the dialup networking wizard.

THANKS
It was something simillar to what you said. Even though my wireless card was disabled the driver was still loading. As my computer kept freezing and would not shut down with TaskManager I had to pop the battery out and the plug. By FLUKE I thought that I had unpluged my laptop during one of the freezes but had'nt and while I was hitting clt-alt-del it said waiting for cftmon.exe to shut down - stopped responding (which I could not get before) and that is when I saw it was the Cisco Wireless PC Card driver. I guess the two have conflicts
I also did not know that the Modem for the T68i could be installed through "add hardware."
Thanks again
