Sorry of this has been posted before buy I thought I would give out the full address for starting messenger on your phone.
It is not expensive and you pay only for the data you download if you have a data account (eg orange world has one with a contract or 10p/min payg).
Simply enter the address as a new bookmark and you're away.

Again sorry of this has been posted before but I done a search and found some conflicting information.
Once you log in and set your initial online status you wont see your contacts straight away so just click on 'update' and it will retrieve them. Do this on a regular basis in order to get an accurate picture of who is online or not.
You will never be far away from you e-friends again....
