Today I went to the Vodafone shop in the hope to configure Blackberry (if it's need to be configured) but cameback with only
a flyer of the RIM blackberry...
Does somebody know how to configure (I've heard you need you're own mailserver).
Maybe it's a little early to post this kind of topics but maybe somebody knows.....

I'm very interested in your experiences with the P910 as a blackberry client. My employer has OKed me to get a blackberry but told me to go buy the handset myself

So of course my thought is, "maybe a p910 would fit the bill..." esp. cuz I haven't found anyplace local that sells the blackberry devices...
Has anyone here used p910/p900 with blackberry enterprise server? Does it work well? Any disadvantages to going that route vs. using RIM's own terminals?
TIA!

2 points i can assist on-i think! First point: t-mobile will launch a replacement service (or so i've heard) when popularity picks up-old system cost 2much 2run as not many usin it. Second point. Blackberry servers cost a few grand 2buy

Thanks! What sort of mail server are you connecting to? A POP system, or what? I would need to connect to a MS Exchange server via Blackberry Enterprise Server, so I'm wondering whether anyone has any experience with that. Thanks!

afaik, Blackberry enterprise server only works with P910 and not Px00 (future firmware for P9 may enable this) due to the simple fact of it's push/encryption technology which only the P910 natively supports currently.
My corporate service provider had tested P910 with Blackberry enterprise server internally and confirmed it's working fine. I will be getting the P910 the moment it's officially released here and will test it immediately with my corporate enterprise server.
Strange thing I heard from the techincal support stuff of my local service provider is that a separate Blackberry software suite for P910 is required to be installed and the native PC Suite (even the latest 3.0.0) does not have blackberry support capability at all. Also, I was told by the service provider that when Blackberry is utilised on a P910, a letter "B" symbol will turn up on top of the normal GPRS symbol to symbolise we are connected to the enterprise server. COOL
@Grimslade,
yes P910 will work with Exchange server coupled with Blackberry enterprise server. In fact, my office is currently utilising the above setups and confirmed by my local service provider after their internal tests with P910
Cheers

If for example you wish to check pop3 email bing "pushed" to your P910 you can simply set this up through your network provider.
For exapmle for O2 users the O2 website has a link to set up push email on your blackberry device. In theory you should be able to do the same by inputting your IMEI number from the P910 instead of the blackberry.
Its not your sim card that determines where the emails are "pushed" to, its the IMEI of the phone. The sim simply has to be GPRS enabled.

I've got a Blackberry and am expecting my P910 this week. I notice that you say the P910 needs a separate software suite to function on the RIM server.
Do you have the details for this please?

Pardon my ignorance but what is the big deal with this blackberry thing?
isn't it just an email client?
