I've still got my old charger from my T68i and was wondering if it will work with my K700 as a backup (home) charger.

They are both CST-13 chargers, but the spec for the T68i one reads:
INPUT: 100-240VAC~150mA, 50-60Hz
OUTPUT: 5.1V=450mA

The K700 one reads:
INPUT: 100-240VAC~70mA, 50-60Hz
OUTPUT: 4.9VDC=450mA

I read somewhere else you can use any SE charger with any phone, but with the difference in input/output, I don't want to risk screwing up the battery as it is weak as it is

its fine and there are a few occasional threads asking this and your concern is certainly valid but fear not. the small differences you mention will not affect performance of charging or cause any problems at all.

to be honest I have so many chargers around the house and my flat and work that I have no idea which one came with which phone any more!

@g5addict - I guess YES mate! As I am using my SE T68i charger with my present K700i fone model. Well actually, I only used the charger of my SE K700i (included in the package) - only once! As in the case of Nokia, it has only one charger model for all of it's fone models old - or new alike (universal)! I still have my Ericsson T10 fone (turquoise), though I just can't use it's charger (old) quite with those latest SE fone models!

the older chargers give a 650mAh output. i'm using the one that came with my T28. and my phones charge faster with that one.

@bart - So, SE chargers-models (old or new) have some varieties as well, like that of a fast or slow charger ?

even if u give the phone 12V itll decrease the voltage to the 4or5V. phone has a circuit in it and it can decide which vlotage to use. no need to worry bout it.
