You don't actually say which phone you have but I don't know if any phones would allow you to.

You can't write, edit or move ANYTHING to or from the A:\ Drive, it is a ROM (Read ONLY Memory)

There is a way on the P800 though, I'll try find it. BTW it doesn't work on P900 though

OK got it.

Simply create this folder:
C:\Sysdata

You can put in there
-Startup.mp4
-Shutdown.mp4
-Popcorn.wav

This definately works to change the video & audio but I never tried just putting the sound file there but perhaps it will work.

NOTE: The mp4s need to be a mirror image (back to front) to how u would normally view them as for some reason the phone flips them. Search on the.web & u should find pre-made Startup&Shutdown vids

I heard misplaced files or incorrectly formatted .mp4's can bugger up you phone. Can someone recommend some startup and shutdown examples that I can try out before I make my own, and assure me the MikLSP's directory listings are correct (I dont doubt you, just being careful!)

No offence taken, I was once equally warey when altering system files

You should find some suitable vids on kazaa or in some of the many Yahoo Groups
