Hi,
Can anyone explain how T610 can be set up to GPRS connection alive.

I know that in Nokia 6610 there is a setting "Session Mode = Permanent". Is there something like that in T610?

Thanks

no unfortunately. it was possible on the T68i but the T610 and subsequent phones don't provide that (except Pxx0 of course)

Very much possible to keep connected to gprs. Goto connectivity, data com, pref service, select gprs and gsm. :-) This message was posted from a T610

It's a bit awkward, but here goes. You need am email account set up im your phone that user your gprs account, set it to download headers only, send yourself am email then en a send recieve, your email header should be there, click it and it'll reconnect to open it, now hold back to the main screen. Your phone should either go back to the main screen and still be connected or ask if you want to remain connected. Press yes and you're still connected and free to go on gprs. Sounds interesting. Even not logical why not to have it as a standard feature. This message was posted from a T630

You should also then be able to exit wap im the same way you exited email and remain connected. Also works on a t300 and a z600. I'll tell you something else illogical, taking out the damn numeric shortcuts in the wap menu. Especially for bookmarks. Going beyond illogical is leaving the numeric shortcuts in when you choose to edit a bookmark! This message was posted from a Z600

Does this keep alive trick work for you guys?
Do the MSN messages get though instantaneously, or are we still stuck with the polling interval of 12 mins?

The trick is to go email Inbox, click on the arrow, if u have mail wait til its downloaded, if not after the session choose Back - click <- - and stay connected. Now go on wap, surf and any time u exit wap, u stay connected and can go to fone menu. To end wap click the back arrow in standby mode. Not sure if it works with msn, i dont use it.
