because of RSA protection i believe the K700 is out of bounds in terms of direct unlocking i.e. with a cable.
so you need to get the codes from your operator and enter them in manually. i think you can only do this once your contact is up, but i am not sure.

Yes you may be able to pursuade your operator but might be difficult.
Unlocking & unbranding the 'normal' way cannot be done yet as the firmware of the K700 has not been cracked yet.

Hi everybody
1. Sorry for my bad english
2. You said that unlock&unbrand cannot be done yet as the firmware is not cracked yet. Well, here in Belgrade(Serbia), i bought new k700i on black market because he was about 150euro cheaper then the regular one. It is a Vodafone Hungary k700i, it has Vodafone icons, Live! crap and all that vodafone stuff is on hungarian language(menu is on english), but i can use it in my network(there is no Vodafone in Serbia)so i think it was unlocked somehow otherwise there is no way i could use it in any Serbian network...

Perhaps it was never locked in the first place or as you say it has indeed been unlocked.
However it obviously hasn't been unbranded with original firmware as you still have all the
Vodacr@p and are probably lacking MP3 ringtones

I read on one serbian forum that it can be unlocked but "they" still don't know how to unbrand it. I can't use mp3 tones and as i said i have all Vodacrap, so i believe it has been unlocked.

like i said the only way to unlock is to enter the codes from the operator. no one as yet has confirmed they can unlock the k700i with the exception of SE who do what they want.
and if the phone cannot be unlocked then it cannot be unbranded.
fingers crossed in a couple of weeks we will have the answer and you will be able to take your k700i to any dodgey highstreet shop and get it unbranded.

Ok, but can u explain me how can i use my phone(from Vodafone HU) here in Serbia if it isn't unlocked? I dont think that guy who brought the phone here could get the codes from Vodafone... And i'm not the only one. Here in Belgrade on 3 regular k700i comes 10 Voda branded and they work in our networks without problems...

Well it obviously is unlocked but we cannot know how this was done or if, like I said earlier, it may never have been locked in the first place. The branding however is a totally different and, in my opinion, a much greater problem!

ok, so your phone comes from vodafone HU and you can use it in europe.
well, the k700i is tri band 900/1900/1800 and was brobably factory unlocked. however, i think that when switching between bands whether it is locked or unlocked is irellivant. for example if i used a phone in UK that was blocked from allnetworks in UK it could still be used in another country. This is why there is now a very substantial market in importing foriegn phones, because as the phone cannot be used in one country the owner sells it to someone else in another.
