Does anyone know how to take a 2bit .bmp and send it to the T39 as an EMS text message? Can it be sent via IR or BT from a PC?

Yes, it can done. You can connect your phone (cable, IrDA or Bluetooth), opne terminal connection to the phone (e.g. minicom) and send a EMS from it to another phone. If you know how to encode the picture (easy) and rest of EMS (easy) then it s easy

Though I have never tried with EMS ...

Can find some EMS pictures, which seems to be .wbmp - WAP bitmap.
Save them and send via iR or cable, bluetooh (with sendfile)
