After placing an order for a P910 last week with Nowicom (delayed shipment) and a couple other vendors I was shocked to find out that I could get an Moto MPx at half the price. I placed a order for a Moto MPx for $600USD where the P910 hit me for $1200USD. I spent an average of $1200 for my P800 and P900 so the P910 is in the ballpark of what I expect to pay for an early release.

However, after obtaining a free Moto A630 (listed @ $500-$700 on Ebay) I'd expect the MPx to be double it's price. Some vendors are listing the Moto A630 at the same price tag as that of the MPx which is supposed to offer more. I really don't like my A630 at the moment, but I got it for free so I can't complain. After seeing several reviews on how the MPx is a much better phone and buy then the P910 I'm surprised that the phone will retail for much less. Nonetheless, I placed my orders for both phones. Hopefully the P910 comes in this week as promised by Nowicom, but I got no lead time for the Mpx. With that said, I'll see which one turns out to be the better bargain although preliminary pricing is based on supply and demand at the moment.

I've never liked Motorola but I have to say I'm very tempted by the MPx if it is a reasonable price, the P9xx series could definitely do to be cheaper.

I already own a P910i, but i would definately consider getting the Motorola MPX as long as funds permit. finally looks like things are about to heat up big time in the smartphone sector. This message was posted from a P910

saw a review of this in some magazine or other - but i couldn't find any info about it on their website.

anybody know where there is a good online review? it does look like its gonna be good. starting to think holding off before i upgraded to the p910 was worth it.

edit:: got it http://www.motorola.com/motoinfo/product/details/0,,48,00.html

one question tho. has it got dual hinges? ie can the flip open down/up as well as left/right? it looks like it can - but there are no pics of it doing this which i think is strange...

edit 2:: just read this on website
"Large dual-hinge landscape and portrait color display for an enhanced experience for gaming, as well as viewing streaming video, photos, applications and more"
one day i will read before i post.

still think its strange there are no pics - it must look s**t or something!

@ mobman i have seen some very nice images of this phone, but from only two angles, flip closed frontal view & flip opened laptop style view, i must say IMO it looks better than the P910i in this mode. This message was posted from a P910

You pay for quality with P9xx with a top quality and reliable smartphone OS, namely Symbian.

MPX gives you microsoft drivel, third rate, buggy software. Cheaper and very cheerful.

microsoft have yet to release a user friendly and quality application. Pigs will fly when that happens, i.e,. *never*.
