Good afternoon everyone. I have a delimma and I'm not sure what to do. I currently use a T610 and it has been decided that camera phones are no longer allowed in the building at work. I need to have a phone with me so my kids can get ahold of me. Is there a cheap, non-camera phone out there that will work with a T-Mobile sim card?

Second. I have a T68 but the screen is cracked. Is there a way to get a new screen for it?

I don't know which one would be cheaper, but at this point I don't care. I just need a phone. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

(Sorry if I put this in the wrong topic list, but I couldn't figure where else to put it!)

Thanks

Sorry. I've already asked about that. Mother said that is a big no-no and I could get fired. As much as I dislike my job, I still need the money. Any other suggestions?

Well, its all got a bit interesting, sounds to me like your company has something to hide, or maybe it's a copywrite thing, i can't imagine many phones will NOT have cameras in the future.
what happns if your caught doing sketches of things.....

Its not that a company has something to hide. It's because of the new child protection laws + public privacy law.

All 4 leisure/sports centres I work in have banned all types of mobile phones from entering the building (they have to be switched off)regardless of wether they have a camera or not as some phones use camera attachments and not all people can identify a camera equipped phone. If a person wants to use their phone they have to go outside the building and then switch it on.
My watch also has a built in digital camera and I cannot wear that for work either.
Also a lot of leisure/sports centres are banning the use of camcorders/cameras/ flash photography during public sesions because of the above laws.

Its not just leisure centres that can enforce this rule either. Basically any place thats public eg, gyms, pubs, cinemas, clubs, theme parks, shops etc can place this ban

Thanks for the help and advice. The reason that our parent company has banned camera phones is because there is information that they don't want our competators to have. I have worked for this company for seven years and I just bought this phone a year ago and now they say I can't bring it in. They suggested that I leave my phone in the car. Yeah right. Like I'm going to leave a phone that cost me $250 in my car to get stolen. Any other advice?

Maybe a new t68 will be cheaper than putting a new screen in? You have a whole new phone then, including new battery.

I think the T230 is the only "new" SE phone without a camera, except for the Z1010 but I suppose you won't pay that much in this case. A new t68 will give you most function without camera...

In many cases I find the ban on camera phones justified. Not only for secrecy/security, I find that it is an intrusion of your privacy. I dislike beïng surrounded by camera's of strangers. In trains or other public places it can be a nuisance. When you see camera-phone equipped guys/boys "working" with their phone in front of a pretty girl it looks pathetic.

I think that all phone companies will add a non-camera phone to their line that does have all the other whistles and bells. SE should be the first.

Get a 230 or a z600. 230 is basically a highly downgraded version of the 610. Its half the price. This message was posted from a T230
