Hey

My laptop see's my K700i and vice versa. The software is BlueSpace NE - i can send files to the phone. But can not send items from the phone to the laptop.

When sending it says - connecting but - doesn't. The software from the K700i CD doesn't seem to detect the phone.

Any ideas?

I find the BT hardware on the Vaio a bit tricky. I could not get it to work with an iPaq 3970, but there are solutions, but I don't know it anymore. Try calling the sony helpdesk.

can you bond the devices? I mean, not just connect, but add the phone in the trusted list on the laptop and the laptop in the trusted site on the phone.

edit: if you do it right you need to set a pincode on both devices (choose it yourself, but make sure it is the same on both devices)

okay that is good. On the iPaq you'll find it under the bluetooth manager. I don't have a laptop aviable with bluetooth anymore, so I can't help you there, sorry. But you are already far.

I gave up on bluespace on my vaio ages ago. very unreliable, very few profiles and difficult to configure. I spent 16 pounds on ebay and bought the billionton bluetooth dongle and its been a dream since

ipaq, headset, phones all connect beautifully

I guess that doesn't help you but at least you know your not alone with these problems

I just asked someone who works for sony vaio support and he confirms what we already know. Anyhow, sony does not give much support. It blames the ipaq and other bluetooth hardware not to be compatible with bluespace, but me thinks every bluetooth device can be made compatible with each other exept bluespace!
