I have a P900 and would like to be able to dial in to our corporate server to pick up mail when I travel. The problem is that I see no facility for Wins resolution and without that it is difficult to impossible to connect to the server due to the amount of time required to resolve the name. Is there a work around or a 3rd party software which would take care of this?

Why not connect tou your server by IP address?

I have already tried that as well as the wins address. There just arn't enough fields for the IP addresses. Our dial up services route through a Shiva box to a wins server which points to the respective mail boxes. The Windows based devices have this functionality built in. If I cannot get this sorted out then the end result may be that I have to get rid of this bugger and go to an I-Mate or other Windows based smart phone.

Any more details.
POP3 mail?
Are you getting your IP address auto allocated?
Your DNS server auto allocated?
Is Shivas box a type of Remote Access Server (RAS box)?
If so I'd get an account set up on the Shivas box to port forward you direct to the mail server.
I'm lucky my email is on a UNIX box and it all just works
