@Trinity16,
i got my phone in US but it was for the HK market. i can use both Chinese and English. when you use the hand recognition, is the black triangle , on the right of the screen, 1/3 from the top of the screen? if so, use your stylus, tap on the bottom of the screen and drag it to the top. this should re-position the black triganle to the middle of the screen, thus enable you to use the English hand recognition.
give it a try and let me know if that solves your problem.

I already knew of that method but thanks anyway. The problem with that is that its not very accurate, my P800s handwriting recognition was alot more accurate and alot speedier OR is this the case with ALL P900s?

now you are talking about a different topic all together.
1. are you still not able to do english? or
2. you are saying the chinese or english recognition is slow?

I am able to get the english, but its more like an chinese-english variant. My P800 handwriting recognition is alot better, is the P900 handwriting poor no matter what? Even english phones?

Trinity,
It is my understanding that the English Handwriting recog. is indeed different on Chinese/English (C/E) phones and English/English (E/E) phones. For a start, it's slower, and there's no support for double-strokes (ie: performing a stroke, lifting the stylus, then performing a second stroke to complete the character), C/E handwriting recog. allows single-strokes only.
I've also been led to believe from my research that it is impossible to flash a C/E phone to make it an E/E phone (with true English Handwriting recog.); apparently the core OS is written into ROM.
If anyone knows otherwise, or has successfully converted a Chinese phone into an English one (or vice versa), I'd be most interested to know more.

If that is true, that is totally stupid. it must be possible to add another text input, im going to have on last search around the se site tomorro, but its hard finding software for 'R5A09'. If not, i'll sell up and go back to my old fithful P800.
