> Screen locked on P900
Bookmark topic
All of a sudden the screen locked on my P900.
I can move through the screens with the jog dial but not use the screen??? Any ideas?
In the lower left corner I have a red circle with a line through it like a no parking logo and under that is a dotted line. What is this??
When the screen wouldn't work I thought it was a screen lock??
But all of a sudden after two days my screen started working again and when I tap on this icon the network screen shows on the bottom.
I am a newbie and don't know what is normal
Thanks for your comments I haven't even had a chance to try the phone part because they don't have phone lines available here in Costa Rica until December!

The red circle is because u have turned flight mode on, consult your manual for more info on this.
I don't know what's wrong with ur screen

Thanks, Strange that they could not tell me that was what it meant when I called SE. I am using Flight mode while I am in Costa Rica because there are no phone lines available until December.
So I get a grey box appearing either over the flight mode icon if it is on or when I put it in phone mode over the signal strength indicator. I am wondering if there is pressure on the screen in that corner eliminating any other screen taps.
When I went into system mode and used the test screen it seemed to draw lines from the bottom left corner up to where I tapped the screen although the alignment was off. Until I can get the screen to respond I can't realign the screen
Any more ideas? Any tech monitor this forum

I had a similar problem with the screen on my P900 - turned out to be a bit of dirt wedged between the screen & case in the lower right corner, which was effectively causing continuous pressure...
Hope this helps.

Is it possible to get dirt out from the corner of the screen without taking the phone in for service?
I will search the database for instructions on opening the phone or will start a new post about opening the phone and cleaning the corners

Yeah, I used the corner of a sheet of paper and managed to tease the dirt out - I'm sure there's a better way but it did the trick!

I tried the paper trick and I thought I had got it clear but I still have the same problem. I am going to start a new post to see if someone can give me the steps to open my phone

I opened the phone up and there must have been some pressure on the screen because it is working fine now. The included screwdriver came in very handy and fit one of my driver handles.
