> Poor P900 Battery Life (
Bookmark topic
I've had my P900 for about 7 months now and have enjoyed it immensly. My big gripe is the battery life. I have noticed that this rapidly runs down as of late

I have done the full discharge and re charge routine but problems still exist. I switch my bluetooth off when i am not bluejacking Evil !! But the battery seems to be poor. Can i get a longer lasting battery replacement? I am comtemplating switching to the Z1010 as i fancy a clamshell, but can anyone offer advice?

Do you constantly have your phone on charge like at work for example?
Do you have any fancyscreen savers?
Other than that, it could just be a faulty batt

Hi,
Not an answer for you, but if you do find somewhere that sells a replacement battery (the 1260mAh size not the 1000 mAh that everyone seems to sell) then please do let us know back here!
I've "killed" mine by constant charge/uncharge/charge/uncharge etc. (I blame the docking station and me not unplugging!)

hiya, i will probably get shot down in flames but i noticed my battery life had been running down a lot quicker lately, i did a master reset after reading somewhere that this could help, i am not very technical but someone mentioned it was to do with defragmentation or something like that(dont ask i dont understand it myself) all i know is is worked for me and my battery life has improved! hope this helps!

To the original poster... you wouldn;t happen to have an Orange version of the P900 would you...?
I have noticed mine has become gradually worse over the past few months (I've had mine a year this November)...
Probably more irritating though has been the fact that each successive Orange approved firmware update has made things worse... I nw wonder whether it is actually the battery or the actually battery monitoring provided by the phone...
Origianal firmware, God Rest It's Sole, was the best, with the abttery lasting at least a week on light usage.... but is has been downhill since then - the last firmware before this most recent Orange version made the red light flash and the phone beep when the levels actually read around the 50% mark... the newer version has stopped this so far, but that doesn;t stop my phone turning itself off now and then when making a call, even though the battery reads around 20% or more...
On another note, I have found a replacement battery for the P900, the higher rated P900 version (although the following link also shows the lower rated P800 version too)...
http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/cat/P900-Batteries.htm
Before anyone asks, they are quite a reputable company as far as I am concerned, I ordered a case for my P900 and for another phone belonging to a member of the family, both of which arrived promptly... I also orded a screen protector from them some time back, which was delayed after I ordered, but I was informed of this on enquiring...

I am experiencing some battery problems after I've installed the new version of AgileMessenger. Once I turned off the option "Run as System App" my battery start working normally again.

KSE:
First of all, if you could see the charge line of a battery you will notice that the discharge rate is not linear. By the end of the battery (about 20%), it starts to fall abruptly in a short amount of time.
That's why your phone turns off automatically, to protect the applications and temporary data.
(this for rechargeable batteries)
To all the others:
I have a Palm with Lithium battery. I read that the Li ion battery life is measured by the number of total dicharges it has gone thru.
It's the exact *opposite* of the old batteries!!
This means the more you keep your battery loaded, the more it lasts!!
I have a Palm with 4 years and 2 phones, all Lithium.
All of them are kept rechaging all night long, and I can guarantee that their batteries are much better that I expected.
I say the trick works! Don't let the Lithium batteries discharge completley!

Hope that this link helps. I have an iPOD and this seems to have helped me obtain better batter life.

One could also search through Esato, as there have been numerous threads dedicated to battery life, especially for the P800/P900.
