> Repairing a Sony Ericsson Z600
Bookmark topic
I bought an SE Z600 a few months ago and it got water-damaged. I tried to get it repaired at a third-party center since Sony doesn't repair water damage. The center wasn't able to get the necessary parts for the phone, however. My question is: should I bother attempting to repair the phone myself and search around for the parts on the internet? Would it just be cheaper to buy a new phone? I'd hate to just throw it away since it's practically new. If it's feasible to do a self-repair, does anyone know where I can find parts for the Z600? Maybe it's just wishful thinking... Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If it's water damage, you're probably better getting a new phone. You might get a few quid for the water damaged phone on Ebay, someone would buy it for spare parts.
Water damaged is somewhere between damned hard and impossible to fix!

You could also try the member Handymobilez uk, he may be able to help more.

I would recommend buying a new one. Even if you get it repaired it could still be possible, that there is some damage from the water, that would cause parts to fail at a later date.

Well, I was afraid I would have to buy a new phone. Anyway, thanks to everyone who took the time to read my question and give their two cents. Peace.

Try pm'ing Handymobilez uk to see if he can help at all, there's a small chance you may be able to resurrect that phone!
@sieg, you should be able to get the phone fixed under warranty - could possibly be the battery's a bit loose, meaning that any jolt (like opening/closing the phone) makes it loose it's connection with the battery and restart itself. It could even be something simple like a loose screw, or it could be something more serious like a software problem.
Leave it to the experts at your local service centre to sort out though if it's still under warranty.
