Hi all, I joined O2 back in July after 8 or so years with T-Mobile. Reasons, were T-Mobile reception is variable at my home and O2 and Vodafone are more stable. O2 has some good offers and tariffs, so here I go.

In the 2 months the problems so far;

SMS suddenly stops working, took approx 4 days and 3 calls to sort out

GPRS suddenly stops working, took 4 calls and 5 days to sort out. It was actually sorted out by a guy in the O2 store in Harrow. It got fixed 2 hours after his call. My visit to store not included in the calls.

Customer services costs money to call, my record to date is 50 mins on hold, eating into my minutes or charging my landline.

Now the biggest problem so far...

Billing issues I have probably made 20 calls to them on this topic and only 1 or 2 people have atually understood my problem. For some reason instead of my inclusive minutes being used, I am being charged for calls. I have spent over £30 on calls trying to remedy this problem. Most of the muppets at O2 C/S do not know what the hell they are going on about and for some reason can't see the problem. Their billing is rubbish as is their customer service (though fairly polite). The level of service is worse than T-Mobile in the old one-2-one days and frankly worse than THREE!!!

I truly wish I had not made the switch, had I known, then I would not have bothered. Their compensation procedures are not as clear as T-Mobile, who would sort things out in a flash and probably give you something for yourinconvenience, so far O2 have offered £5...yippeee.

Another thing in the last week, there is a 50:50 chance that the computers are down, or something like that. So the frustration has got to the point of explosion and I am about ot read them the riot act.

I was warned, and now you all have been...

Anyone else have problems with O2?

I had problems with o2 online, mainly caused by the fact i didnt research their contracts enough before signing up. They are rather expensive if you've used up all your minutes.

And when i got billed for a 7hour wap call that i didn't make i wasnt that happy. Ended up having to pay for it because it would probably end up being twice as much if i stayed on the customer service trying to sort it out.

Moved to t-mobile last january and am rather happy with the service

No problems except everytime I want change tarrif they cancel my sms,gprs,mms,insurance and free minutes even though I say yes to keeping the same setup everytime I'm asked. Have an apoligy each time and also get a little extra free time.

I've found where I live their signal just pips other networks. However, they sometimes don't seem to want my money - they've been late twice in sending me my bill! The first time it happened, I had to pay two months' line rental in one month because of their mistake.

Also, no delivery reports for texts! Have to use the '*0#' trick when I want a delivery report.

Yes, I agree, the charging for customer services is a pain, especially as Orange never did. If they improved their signal in my area, I'd probably move back to them.

One thing that O2 have gotten right is the fact their customisation of their phones is minimal, a big reason why I wouldn't go with Vodafone is all that branding! They also don't sim lock their phones. Orange do customise their phones, but not as much as Voda, or at least they didn't!

Vodafone, man. They monkey about with your phones but the service is fantastic, thats why i stick with them. All their callcentre staff are fully trained, its usually sorted out in one call, and although you do get put on hold sometimes, usually aint that long. If I could have 02's phones, and Vodafones service, well by god i would be a happy man.

And the vodafone customer service is free.

i have never had a problem with my o2 online or pay as u go sim lucky me but again they dont lock there phones only a little branding that realy would worry u

I've never had a phone that was locked from vodafone, they have always been unlocked when i got them. Branding, well, really (with their range anyway, im not too familiar with what they do to other brands of phone) the only MAJOR concern is on the k700. My p900 is all vodafone branding, and to be honest, its not too bad. I just changed my homepage away from live!, and thats about it.

I put my wife onto o2 Online 200, and frankly it has been fine, but as a pay monthly account holder having gone to the shop to buy direct, I have been none too pleased, as you can all tell!!!
