yes you can. well, there are 2 ways.
The first is to take the cradle apart and swap a wire so that the USB power also charges. I've seen this somewhere (this forum or My-symbian), with photos included.
I didn't do that myself, just in case I blew the phone up (I'm cautious like that) - on the mentioned post, it does seem to work though.
The other way, which I do, is to buy a USB charger for a couple of pounds/euros and link it to the cradle. Mine is permanently connected, so the only "hassle" is using 2 USB ports
