I have a T610 and the little microswitch has broken off the board.
I took it to a repair shop and they said they could put a new switch on, then the engineer said this was`nt possible.
Anybody know how to get the phone switched on or how to get the data from my phone .
I have loads of numbers I need and dont have a backup
Hope some of you techies can help
Is data on a chip that could be transfered to another phone?
I should add, the repair shop was not SE,dya think a proper service centre could help?

Welcome to esato.

Yeah, definitely take it to a service centre. If you don't like what they say you can always try elsewhere, but they'll be the ones who know best (usually).

u cant back up a t610 and all ur numbers should be stored on the sim card and if u wann get ue phone on u can tak it appart and just make a complete connection on the phon first get to the mother board the look at the two gold contacts that go to the broken switch area then just a wire and put it over the two gold contacts and it should turn it on like hotwiring but u might hve to scrape a little bit from the board to get to the motherbord. when it stars remove the wire to disconnect the connection so it dosent shut it off.

The switch has 4 connections I think
or are two of them just anchors to hold it steady?
Looking at the board you have two connections at left and two on the right
the ones on left seem to have disappeared altogether when switch broke off

Yes there are four contacts, as as Sirhackalot said, you should be able to turn it on by 'hotwiring' it with a piece of wire, end of a knife, anything metal really. I managed to do it with a T610 with a similar problem, except it only did it once for some reason, I never managed to turn it on again! Just do it carefully so you don't damage anything else!

I believe putting a new switch on should be fairly easy for a phone repair shop/service centre. I've never tried it myself (I haven't got a soldering iron!), but it's apparently an easy operation.

his phone proble start so slow or he thinks is slow so u usualy end up pushing it hard and some how it stresed the contact off the motherbord just like my t68i s voice control dial but luckley it was just the spring.
