I have downloaded the visual communicator from sepio onto my p900, but it will not connect using o2's standard gprs settings. Could anybody please give any advice on how to re-configure the settings, which may help solve my problem. Any help will be gratefully appreciated......

I think for that program you probably need access to special ports, and the O2 GPRS only allows connection via port 80.

I e-mailed O2 about getting access to other ports via GPRS and got some canned response on how to set up WAP internet access on my Nokia 7110 (which I got about 4 years ago, and have upgraded about 4 times)... their customer service is truly useless.

dont you need the 'mobile web' gprs settings instead? they should be easily available from the O2 website

The 'mobile web' settings are available only if you are a contract customer, which to start with is wrong, it should also be available if you're paygo like myself. i can connect the communicator using normal dial-up wap though, but this is pointless (and costly) as ya need a constant online connection. Does anyone know the settings to connect to opera, they may work, i had them but lost them, they were a slight variation on the o2/gprs settings. thanx for trying to help guys.

Nope, the 'Mobile Web' settings are useless as well... (well they are for Agile Messenger, so I assume so for visual communicator).

I can connect via dialup wap also, but kinda defeats the purpose.

No, scrub that, I had a further look into the settings and managed to get Agile Messenger up and running (and hence, I assume, visual communicator)

Try using these settings for your GPRS:

Connections>Internet Accounts
O2 GPRS

Advanced/Server
username: username
password: password (yes, use these words for the username/password)
Address: mobile.o2.co.uk

Advanced/Login
Get IP/DNS address automatically: tick

Let me know if this works for pay&go (I'm contract).
