Hi I'm a complette novice at this sort of thing. Just can't find what I want so thought I'd try my self.

I've downloaded SE theme creator form sony-ericsson web site.

Can I with this, or any other creator you can sugest, as I realy don't know what I'm doing.

A: Make the desktop icons semi-transparent?
B: Make highlight boxes transparent? Just want the text colour to change, no stupid box around it.
C: Get rid of the operator logo, hate those whats the piont in them.

Well pretty much make verything disaper apart from the pictures I want. And the important bits of writing, I still want to be able to see who I'm phoning and stuff like that.

Is any of this possible or am I just wanting too much.

Sorry, none of those things are possible. They are all set in the firmware of the phone and cannot be changed by a theme. It's a big shame though!

Only the elements that the theme creator lets you edit are editable...

EDIT: Actually, highlight boxes may be able to be transparent, use a PNG file with transparency and that may work.

Whats a PNG file? and how would I use it? All i seem to be able to do is change the colour and it's always solid.

It's correct that you can turn the highlight transparent using a PNG

A PNG is a filetype that lets you save a picture as transparent, to create a transparent highlight you need a paintprogram that lets you save PNGs, what i meen is that you need a program where you can create a PNG with the meassures of the highlight and then save it as a PNG and then import it to the teamscreator.

You have to create graphics to fit in each of the elements of the theme, using a program like Photoshop (which can save PNGs).

The theme creator should tell you the required image size to use.

Best thing to do is get an existing theme from somewhere, extract the individual files from it (its a TAR archive, so you'll need a program to un-TAR it) and have a look at all the elements. It'll help you understand how the theme is made.

Have a serach on this forum too, there's many talented Theme makers who have posted lots of help.

When saving it make sure you dont just click save as.. and save it with the .png ended. Go to file>Export>png file and save it from there or it will not be transparent.

A png file is an image file that can have transparent properties, the theme creator is best used in conjunction with an image editor ie photoshop
