The P900 and P910 on Ebay are mostly from Europe, in particular countries like Romania and Germany. What gives? I want to buy the P910, but are these sellers trustworthy?

Has anyone purchased either the P900 or P910 from a seller in Europe?

No don't buy from eBay.

The majority are scams. Hackers can takeover account for legit ebay users with lots of positive feedbacks, but as they can't always hack the email account so they usually ask for all questions to be sent a xxxxx@yahoo.com email address. The sales are usually for 24 hours as it take eBay Admin/Support 24 hours to respond to a report of a fraud.

You have been warned. Please search esato as there have lots of threads about these scams.

I think once you search and become familier with what are geniune sellers, you can do your homework and buy from them. I bought my P900 from ebay in May... GBP 350 unlocked. That was a good price then.

Some simple tips to help you buying:
** Ask seller couple of questions using the ebay facility. Responses give an impression about the seller. The more clear he is in dealing with you, you should be fine

** Track some of the going on bids. You will know the current going price. Anything substantially cheaper than that is probably a scam

** Genuine sellers repeatedly sell similar stuff. So look at what the person has been selling. A safe buy would be to get from someone who has been selling it for some time.

** Look at a good rating, almost no negative feedback (even 3-4 recently should be bad). You will find many people with almost no negative. Sparse negative feedback must be examined. When looking at feedback, look at those given only from buyers and look at recent items. He should be selling similarly priced items. Someone selling cheap things for long suddenly selling an expensive gizmo is not welcome.

** Examine payment options well. Prefer Paypal / Escrow etc. Any special requests like sending WU / cash etc should be avoided. Similarly special requests for communication on specific email addresses and contact numbers besides proper ebay channel should ring alarm bells.

Others may add other tips. Basically buying from ebay needs some homework till you understand that market. After that its easy. I had a lot of trouble convincing myself before buying my first big item at ebay. But since then, I have matured a bit... and have bought a lot of stuff from ebay. And I've been happy. The prices have been fabulous. Just understand what all tools / guidelines ebay provides for good transactions.

Buy carefully and enjoy.

If they r from Romania, almost all of them r scammers. I live here and i can tell u in ur country the phones r cheaper. I think the safest way is to get it from the shop. What if the phone u buy from ebay has some bugs in it&same hw problems? U have to repair it right? This message was posted from a T610
