Today i spoke to a CPW customer service rep on the 0800 number at direct sales and asked them about the Z1010.

They said "The Z1010 is very unlikely to be relesed on 3 cause there are a lot of issues with it ( what the issues are not sure)" he also said "Sony Ericsson will be looking to release the Z1010i on 3 round about Jan/Feb time" he also said "That SE are not like Nokia that release same phne with minor changes and call it i.e. 7250... 7250i (which are crap)"

Anyone else know anything???

The Z1010 will be available on 3 as far as I am aware. The CPW are advertising the Z1010 as being for sale, as are Phones4U, although neither seems to actually have any. Since 3 is the only operational consumer 3G network in the UK at the moment, one would assume that both the CPW and P4U are advertising the Z1010 based upon a 3 contract/Pay As You Go account.

I know its in the CPW and Phones4U mags, but i got this information yesterday when i spoke to a CPW advisor who mentioned that it is very unlikely it would come out due to their being lots of issues with the phone (Z1010) and instead they would release the Z1010i!!!

I did ask that you have it in the mags they said it was meant to come out!!! So this could be last mintue thing!

So does anyone else have any information in regards with this subject and could you please shead some light on the subject.

I had heard that one problem 3 were having with the Z1010 was SE's refusal to include a dedicated 3 button, such as exists on other 3 handsets. I presume this issue has now been resolved.

cpw could be advertising the phone for the orange and vodaphone 3g networks which are due to go live by the end of this year.
as for an i version cant see it unless se do a special version of the phone like they do for vodamoan with the f500

I got the Z1010 on 3 here in Sweden. About the 3 logo there is one on my phone. It works superb and I'm very pleased with it. Ofcours it would be nice with a Z1010i in a while but for now it works fine to me. Is it released with any other 3G contracts in Europe other than 3, Tele2 and Vodofone here in Sweden?

@slattery69

One cannot advertise something for sale, which does not exist. Since neither Orange or Vodafone have operational consumer 3G networks at the moment phones cannot be advertised on those networks.
My own opinion on the delay is that 3 is perhaps hoping to squeeze every last penny from the LG 8110/20 before releasing the Z1010.

Well Orange is now advertising the Z1010 on its website, I think the delay has been more of a supply and demand issue. As you know 3 released the z1010 in all ohter countries except the UK, I believe the reason for the delay is based on the dimensions of the phone. Three has been improving with sizing and battery life issues and I am guessing due to the very "fashion orientated" UK customers they are concerned people will perceive that they are going backwards and not forward...remember not everyone is an SE lover and will not understand the difference between the LG and SE, all they will see is the size and instantly go for the LG or something much smaller.

what i meant was they are just advertising the phone with a release date which could coinside with the launch of the orange and vodaphone 3g network which are both due to go public this year. orange are advertising the phone on there website as coming soon so a launch is due very shortly
while i agree cpw cant say its just for orange vodaphone etc they just advertise it as coming soon
so it doesnt mean that its just for 3 though i would be surprised if they didnt take it as well

I have seen the Z1010 advertised with a price in both the CPW and P4U. Incidentally, the CPW was cheaper.
