> Getting my cable to work,

my p900 was connected to my computer perfect and everything was running fine,but then i had to restore my computer because it was taking 10 mins for a web page to load up,(no its no joke it use to take that long)there was a hanged on the side of the computer to start it up lol,anyway i have sorted everything now and the internet is working how it should be,the only thing is my p900 wont connect to the computer now,i havent used the cd we get with the phone because i havent got it so i downloaded it from sep800 because the one on the sonyericsson web site never works for me,but this one as not to,can anyone send a copy that they know works or help me with what i am doing wrong,
sorry i know this topic as been up so many times,
any help would be great thanks,

also i have a bluetooth connecter for the computer but when i send software it dont load into my phone right why is this,is goes into beamed the you open it and it comes up like you are saving a picture or video,
be glad when my good old cable starts working again because that works perfect when its working right,
please help on any of the two questions i have asked that would be great,
i know you people out there will sort it out for me,

On the issue of using Bluetooth to transfer files to your P900, I am assuming that you are not using the official SE P900 filemanager programme. You will find this programme on the CD accompanying the P900 as part of the overall P900 software, alternatively this software can be downloaded from the SE website.
Once you have installed and set up the software you should have a P900 icon on your desktop, which, whilst your phone is connected through whatever means, can be used to explore the files on your P900 as well as allowing you to transfer various file from your PC into the relevant folders on your P900.
In dealing with your problem regarding connection via cable, have you checked your COM port settings?

Thats because you are not supposed to send the installation files to the phone! To install a progam through bluetooth, you need to establish a connection with the PC and then double click on the installation file to install, just like when you install through cable.

If you have Pc-suite version 3, then right click on the connection link and choose connect to a bluetooth phone. I hope that works. I just double click on the serial port connection in My bluetooth places to start the connection

ok i have tried everything and it still dont work bloody thing i have downloaded the new ver 3.0 from the sony ericsson web site and it dont say anything about bluetooth on it,as anyone else downloaded the pc suit from the web site and it work,
anyone else know anything i could do,besides buying a new computer lol,
btw i brought a k700i for my girlfriend today,kool phones,not as good as a working p900 lol

Try uninstalling the USB port for the sync station and download new drivers (from the SE support site) and then re-install them after a reboot.

It should be simpler to use the sync station / cable than BT.
I had the same problem I had to reinstall the USB serial port using drivers from the SE support site. Alo try to switch off any firewalls and dont use USB hubs.

someone plz help me l use a sep800 l am having problems connecting my p800 to my pc using the syncstation when i first startup the pc and put my phone in the cradle it detects it but once i remove it and put it back again it doesnt detect it and when i try to backup or restore it finds it and when the backup or restore program says the phone will be turned off turn it back off the phone goes off then i put it on again and the restore or backup program does not find it the phone connection monitor on the taskbar says it is connected but the phone icon on the taskbar does not show so i cant backup or restore plz help me..
