I have had my P900 since June this year since then I have been getting more and more white screen crashes, whilst not life threatening it is very annoying. According to the SE web site I seem to have the latest software CXC162022 R3C006, I have SMAN and Qfile manager installed along with some games saved to my Card, do any fellow Easto members have any ideas as to what causes this or what action to take to prevent its continuing reoccurrence.

I have had such problems after i installed the 128 Mb Duo Pro.
I think even though SE says P900 is compatible with 128 Mb stick, there are some problems.

Typical ones I see are.....

1. Unexpected end of file Error. Keyboard stops in sms mode. Graffiti stops too.

2. White screen crashes... specailly when I run a game called TwinBubblels.

Do u mean a phone lockup? I did get the white screen a coupla times, and i think the P900 might have ran outta memory when that happens.

What bothers me is that the phone used to restart automatically if it is running short of memory, but now it is just a white screen, and i'd have to pull the battery!

yes, a phone lockup. But the way to come out of it is not necessarly the battery removal.

You can hold down the power switch for 10 seconds to shut off the phone and restart it again.

Hi yes I suppose you could call it a lock up but as the device is actualy a small PC I normaly refer to it as a white screen failure! (as per windows blue screen failure)
I think you may be correct when you say the device may have run out of memory but I thought that SMAN was supposed to include a memory managment tool or am I incorrect in this assumption?

Can you make it white screen? If so check your Sman task manager before hand to check what memory you have available. You may just need to 'flush' the apps still resident in the memory to prevent this from happening - I usually have approx 38% avail.

Hi Mince Inside
I have Sman running all the time with task manager as my preferred module, I have the virtual flip set to auto flush; So I am quite surprised that this problem continues to plague me! I wondered if it was anything to do with the firmware release or perhaps Qfile manager conflicting with Sman’s file manager? however I cannot find a way to uninstall Qfile Manager (which in my opinion is poor development) especially as I only loaded it to uninstall Sman (a glaring ommission in a great tool guys!) from external memory as a previous poster suggested that running Sman from the card may be causing the crashing problems.
I wondered if the high number of contacts I have on the phone (560) might be causing the problem or the fact I have a large number of voice commands but according to storage manager I have 9 meg of internal storage free and with my memory level at around 40% to 43% I do not think I am running short of system resource what do you think?

@Nitro Fan

How much RAM do you have after a reboot? My P900 has between 7 and 6 MB. If you down at 4/5 MB you might find this is not enough especailly if you use Opera. My contacts db has nearly 600 contacts and I never suffered problems. My only problem, very infrequent, is with BT if I have used a number of BT devices with my P900 without turning it off and rebooting (my phone is usually on 24 hours a day).

Guess the only way to find out is to install sman on the internal memory and format the duo. I have to agree it is V poor that apps cannot be uninstalled. I'm not sure how much faster the OS can access internal memory v's duo stick but that could be a cause of these lock-ups due to failing to access memory as expected/developed. I would say only droll or ajack can advise how they devloped Sman / intended it to be used on internal or extarnal memory.
