> memory stick pro duo problems

I now have my p910 but when I put my pro duo in the adaptor and then into my laptop my computer doesn't recognise it, when I put a normal duo in no problems. Do I need some sort of driver for the pro duo?

Not as far I know - I am using a Sandisk 256 MB Duo Pro and it works fine. You may have a faulty Duo Pro.

been swapping them back and forth testing videos and pics and stuff
you could try to format the card and see if that resolves your problem
edit: indeed I was suitably impressed when the P910 could display a 5 megapixel (2.2mb) picture from my DSC-T1

thats very strange then. have two. one 256mb and one 32mb. Neither work and have tried formatting them...very very frustrating

it's not. it works fine with a standard memory stick. I also have a pcmcia reader too which has the same problem. the memory sticks are fine as they can be read in the p910

it sounds like the pc end of things is not pro compatible.
how old are the pc or reader that you are trying to put the memory stick into?
for example, my wifes desktop sony vaio which has a memory stick slot cannot handle pro but my vaio laptop can

My Sony card reader can't read Duo Pro cards as Sony did not have a firmware upgarde for it. But Sony did have a firmware upgrade for my Viao laptop. Have you checked for a firmware upgrade for your card reader?

i know that some readers don't support pro and some don't even have firmware upgrades as the company wants you to buy the new and "improved" reader which supports pro, similar to p90-p910 story, lol
anyway i know that mine apacer mega steno reader doesn't read pro cards but the other one does so my guess is the reader

You can try reinstalling the drivers or an updated driver for ur reader u never can tell
