Just installed SP2 on my Windows XP. Got PC Suite 2.4.1 NL (cause 3.0.0 is not available in Dutch at the moment), when Is stick in my BT USB dongle it is not recognized automatic by WinxP (and SP2). It only installs itself with 3rd-party drivers (from Trust).
I thought it was possible to use built-in drivers from XP to use my BT dongle? How do I use those (and the XP SP2 BT Software) instead of the 3rd-party software?

Molski
ps. XP+SP2+PC Suite 2.4.1+3rd-Party BT Drivers work great. Serial linking, file transferring and sending, synchronize bla bla bla...it all works like it should!

i have to partially install my 3rd party drivers, then MS detects the dongle and takes over.

You need 3.0.0 for full feature support with SP2 (or you need to restart your PC everytime it loses connection with your p900).

Im told that usb bluetooth dongles don't contain firmware - they download the firmware from the PC after the driver has been installed, so it needs a driver installed before Windows can properly recognise it.

One way I found after formatting to install SP2 clean was to loook for drivers in the c:\program files\widdcomm folder as the installer had uncompressed the drivers there.

The author of that has a dbt-120 (same as me) but I couldnt get drivers from Windows Update, hence the explanation above. I'm not really sure why he's saying be so careful as all thats going on is "remove the bt drivers, install sp, let windows install bt".

Thanks guys!

Gonna try it this afternoon, when I get back from work. I just printed 3 pages of BT support from Microsoft so I think I'm gonna fix the job today
