Have once heard that it was possible for P800 with a software upgrade to make the camera a Megapixel quality, so why not for the P900...
Any ideas...?¿?

HOWEVER........
lt is possible, as with the K700, for the software to implement interpolation. This is a digital effect that expands the size of the picture (e.g. to 1MP) BUT it will not be of the same quality as a true 1MP camera.
I've never seen a program to do this on the P-Series

All you have to do is to take two (or more) consecutive snapshots without moving.
Since you are not using a tripod, the two snapshots would be almost exactly the same, but if you look closer they are not!
One picture should have detail that the other misses, and vice-versa.
If you digitally process the two images with some sort of intelligent algorithm, ou can create a third image that is almost twice the resolution and detail of the first two.
This process works pretty well, and even averages out the noise in the original picture!
I've been looking at the pictures posted with the P9x00 and I'm pretty sure they are doing this sort of thing to double the vertical resolution of the camera sensor.
If you look closely, most pictures that were taken in movement are *dented* in the verticar, near the edges.
This means the vertical resolution is either interlaced, or is a two pass process to doube the resolution.

But as towards the original question that's still a no isn't it as the camera cannot become MP through s/w.
And no amount of processing can produce a MP quality image from a VGA cam
