I have just browsed to

http://www.sonyericsson.com/updateservice/K700/frameset.htm

and the Sony Ericsson Update Service seems to be live, i dont know if it has been posted before but i can see it being live now.

I have tried to update my k700 but it said that there is no update for my operator I have a uk o2 branded k700.

I am stuck, i cannot update my k700 here in Cyprus since they will not do it for a k700 purchased overseas. And now that the K700 Sony Ericsson Update Service is live there is no updates for O2 Life just sucks. I guess i have to stick with the r2a firmware and keep restarting my phone every now and then to get my bt headset connected

U should ask your oqerator, when are they going to launch their own fw. I do got your point, same here with the vodafone crap, many suffer of it. Try to make it unbranded. Good luck. This message was posted from a T630

well there is no way to make it unbranded with the online update service. My only option now is to send it to the UK just to flash it. A Wonderful support from SE

I've upgraded to R2L online from R2A alright. I can receive pic, music files via bluetooth or infrared. Everything seems alright. I'm on Asian Latin 3 language pack. The phone has been functioning much better (The battery meter especially). The blootooth does not drop out like it did in my previous firmware. I would think that it is quite safe to do the online update
