i understant t-mobile national coverage does not extent to Canada. meaning a call from canada back to the US would incurr roaming and long distance charges, correct?
how about surfing the web via t-zones? would that be free or not?

If you are right across the border, I don't think it'd be a problem with voice or data.
I was in Juarez, Mex. and I used my phone extensively. Luckily I was just across the border getting drunk at some shitty bar and I was able to pick up a T-Mobile signal from the US side of the border. But when I was in Mexico City I was roaming on various Mexican GSM networks and I was charged for voice, data and text messaging.
Let me know... If you are roaming on a Canadian network, chances are data will cost you some money. I think $0.015 per KB, but I might be wrong.
