A master reset shouldn't affect the Sim pin code.

You blocked the sim?

Is it asking for you to enter PUK code?....dont try and guess the PUK call your operator and ask for your PUK code, they will give it to you and you can unblock the sim card by turning your phone on and when it asks for PUK code enter the code and you can choose a new pin.

try it again - preset pin is 1111 though reset shouldnt effect it as it is handset orientated

It wont reset the SIM PIN, but it will do the phone code.... I think

that is correct. Master reset will reset the phone lock code, and if that is what you have set rather than SIM lock you'd best keep your manual nearby when you reset your phone
