I've been wondering this for a long long time. So have many others on the board.
Who is truly better? Sonyericsson, or Ericsson?
After many hours of researching and analyzing my results, I’ve decided on one test that can separate the men from the boys.
THE CHARGER TEST!
I’ve taken one Sonyericsson CST-13 charger, and an Ericsson BML-162. Both are for indoor use only, and are the standard UK 3 pin plugs.
First I should talk about vital stats. We all prefer em bigger don't we
Round 1 – Vital stats
They both have 100-240V inputs at 50-60Hz. The Se however has 150 worth of mA's, whereas the Ericsson has 0.13A.
For outputs the SE charger clearly wins as its voltage is 5.1 and features 450mA, whereas the Ericsson is a pathetic 5v at only 0.65A.
Sonyericsson wins round one, because of the superior voltage rating and it has the extra m, which must stand for marvellous or something good.
Round 2 - styling and build quality.
The Sonyericsson is a cute 1 piece unit, which follows the styling of modern Sonyericsson products. It looks good when plugged in, and adds a touch of class to your house. The Ericsson unit looks rather large, but can be dismantled into 3 pieces for travelability. This feature also allows you to change the head so you can use it worldwide! (Who needs a travel adapter anyway?).
The build quality differs. I made a test of swinging the chargers round my head to see what would happen to them when they made contact with someone’s face. I knew that the Sonyericsson charger would win this because it’s made of only one piece. The Ericsson unit just fell to bits when it made contact, and scarring was not as well defined as when the Sonyericsson made contact.
The cable of the Ericsson however felt sturdier as it appears to be thicker. This can be seen in the photo below, with the Ericsson cable at the top.
The Ericsson also has a more rubbery pluggy into phone bit, it adds more grip and makes it a more pleasant experience.

Sonyericsson win round 2, because it looks better.
Round 3 – Length
The Sonyericsson charger cable is about 5 cm longer than the Ericsson one. This makes it easier for you to move about with the phone still plugged in. It also means you can put the phone higher places. You wouldn’t want your dog playing with your K700i if the phone can kill do you?

Round 4 – Other features
The Ericsson charger has an exposed fuse, which makes it easier to change. You can’t even get into the Sonyericsson plug to change the fuse. Who knows, there may not even be one in there? Not very safe that.
Ericsson wins!

Round 5 – Charge times
I’m not that sad to sit there with a stop watch, so here are some fake results:
(Results made on a flat BST-25 battery in a T630 mobile phone. Charge times from flat:
Sonyericsson charge time – 2hours 13mins 42seconds
Ericsson charge time – 14hours 34mins 07seconds
This might have something to do with a power cut during the Ericsson charge time, but who knows?
Sonyericsson win another round
Final results:
Sonyericsson thrash Ericsson 4-1.
All you people living in the past will now have to face facts that this biased test is 100% official and Sonyericsson is bettererer than Ericsson

Mixin - Nice piece of information! Minus the change in/of times, Ericsson is far much better for me - the Swedish made ones and not SE's Malaysia or China mades, just like in the case of Nokia! By the way, just a correction matey, no such word as 'betterrer' . . . it's 'much/more better' - I guess! I feel 'better' now . . .

Sonyericsson is made in china, Ericsson made in Finland. I trust the Sonyericsson one more because the chinese are more well known for making electrical products, so i trust them more.
And bettererer is a word. You obviously haven't been looking in the mixionary recently

I once had my phone plugged into the Ericsson, and overstretched it abotu 5cm. It all fell to bits the top bit came unplugged from the wall! Now thats unsafe!

agreed lol, but SE had to recall the cst-13 as they noticed that there was a problem with them, so you should have posted it to them and got a free replacment.

Only ones made in Thailand by Delta I do believe. This was the replacement charger i got from them infact.
