Hello everyone,
I m new to this forum so bare with me if this have been asked before. I did search for relevant topics but couldnt find any.
So here goes my question... How much is the actual available memory in the SE k700. Supposedly it has memory capacity of 41 mb. How much of this 41 mb is actually free for use and how much more memory can be freed if one erases the preinstalled stuff that can be erased.I ve heard of anything from only 12 mb free memory up to 38 mb. What is the real available memory ?

Thanks a lot in advance,

there were stories about pre production models having 12mb etc and even the initial production models said 32mb on the box but you should be able to get the full 41mb on an unbranded unit when you take it out of the box

Thanks for your reply,
41 mb of free memory out of the box sounds really good but arent there any preinstalled stuff (themes, pix, sounds, games etc) that CANNOT be erased and take up a certain amount of memory ???
On my t630 which supposedly has a memory capacity of 2 MB only about 1.4 MB are actually available for the user.

With all that installed, you have 41 mb of free memory. Only thing that cannot be erased are SE picture (roting cube), two MIDI melodies, 1 theme and 1 game (3d tennis). Everything else can be erased, and I think you should have even 42 mb of memory. But don't take me for the word, coz I haven't try that when my K700 was still 'young' ;-) . No, k700 doesn't have any memory bug. You get pure, free 41 mb to use This message was posted from a K700i
