This is a weird bug i discovered 2 months ago, and it has never been fixed in firmware updates. This is how it works:
When writing a SMS, type 116, (as to get the
smiley). This smiley is not by default triggered by typing 116, so you have to spell it yourself. When you spell it, you should get the
smiley automatically. This will save some time, instead of inserting it from the "add symbol" submenu. On my phone, this has then worked for a couple of days (when the phone was new). But suddenly, after a few days, my phone reboots when I type 116 in a sms and click right on the joystick!! I have no idea why! This has happened on both my K700i's. I have tried it on several other phones as well (my friends phones etc). It doesn't happen when the phone is brand new, but sets in after a couple of days/weeks. Does anyone else have this problem? Is SE aware of it? It's very annoying. Please try it, and post your experiences here. I have a brand-free phone, btw.
edit: The smiley that resets my phone is made from : - o (the letter o). On the K700i you get the
smiley when typing that. In this forum you get the
smiley. Just to avoid a misunderstanding

I to have the r2l firmware. It happens to me when i inserted 116 then typed it in then scrolling down to it. I did not have to push the joystick. It just restarted itself when it came down to 116. Really annoying:(

Same thing happens here with R2A.
It also does it if u use a 'D' instead of an 'o' to produce the same smilie with 113.
And also if u press 'space' instead of just pressing joystick right

I just upgraded to R2L today. Which is the newest software? R2L or R2Y? I think I can recall reading somewhere that the Online Update Service SE has, has a different FW version than the servicecenters around the world have. Is that correct? Is that why some have R2L and some have R2Y perhaps?
