Well, here's my situation:
Bought over a T610 from my friend, apparently it was a parallel imported unit. Doesn't matter, service centres here in Malaysia charge only RM 25 (divide 3.8 for USD) for upgrades...
So I proceed to upgrade, only to have them tell me that they could not upgrade my phone due to it being a T-mobile branded phone.
Then I found out that the parallel importer had first reflash the phone to an unbranded firmware before selling it to public. So my unit is an unbranded T-Mobile unit and no service centres here can (or willing to) upgrade it for me.
I'm considering getting a Terminator cable and upgrading it myself, any complications to this since my phone is that T-mobile unit?
Any local Malaysia users having the cable willing to help me out?
