> "Too many messages" bug - help!

Hi, i kept having a vibration alert and a pop-up message that tells me I've got waiting messages and that my phone has stored too many messages. It prompts me to delete away some of my msgs in order for the new message to be stored in. the problem is, i have deleted all my msgs in the inbox, sent sms, saved sms and drafts!
even then, the msg keeps popping out until i've to shut down my phone..
Anyone encountered this problem and know how to solve it? pls help.. thanks a zillion!!!

What phone have you got? Is there anything in the 'mms unsent' folder? Try looking at the 'memory status' of the phone, how much free memory does it say you have?
It could possible be also that your phone as too many pictures or ringtones stored on it, certain models use 'dynamic' memory, where all free memory can be used for storing anything, in other words if you load the phone up with images, there's none left for text/media messages.

oh, mine's K700.. and i think it's sms memory is different from the other memories, right? so i couldn't figure out why this is happening. furthermore, i've got like 1mb free in this phone!

I found i was only able to store 100 txts in total shared between inbox and sent, i thought the k700 could store a lot more than this by sharing the 41mb of memory it has, i started to get the messages getting full warning when i only had 97 stored in total,

the K700 can save up to 100 sms. It counts all SMS in the Sent and Inbox folder. The problem is when you enable the sms status report every SMS with such a report (are placed in the sent folder) decrase the sms memory by one.
Sample:
5 SMS in the inbox folder
3 SMS in the sent folder with status report
Memory Status: 8 of 97 SMS
Another Sample:

5 SMS in the inbox folder
3 SMS in the sent folder without status report
Memory Status: 8 of 100 SMS
But there is way to save more than 100 SMS. Just save them in the template folder. All messages in the template folder are saved to the main phone memory and didn't decrase the 100 possible SMS memory slots.

I find it very bothersome to keep on receiving that warning saying that sms almost full and I that have to delete messages. I wonder if there is any way not to get my sent messages to save in the sent folder or to turn it off completely. Then the phone can receive up to 100 sms messages.

Atlast!! Someone with same problem I have! I'm on my second K700, I had my first for like a month when I first noticed thoes problems. After the message limit reduced so much I couldnt receive any messages, even tho I had none in inbox nor in outbox/sent items. So the whole SMS part of my phone was ?!##!?#!!!
When I received a sms it told me to delete messages, what can I delete if there is nothing to delete!!!
I then sent my K700 back to a certified SE service center, the phone was there for a week. I called them, asked about my phone, the guy said "We havent looked at it yet, but I think it's just a software issue".
Then, a couple days after that I got back my phone.. Well I got a new phone. A new K700. Well, i've been using it for a month now... And guess what?! AGAIN the same problems!! And this is a
NEW K700, not the same phone I've sent them. So I guess it wasnt just a software bug ... Hardware issue!? Thats no good SE ..
Or am I just that unlucky to get my hands on two(2) broken K700s, sounds unlikely! But I know my luck ...
And with the K700 I have now, it's updated. Well it has the R2L001 software. I'll run the update service tomorrow. Lets see if i get a new software package downloaded. And btw. I'm not using the email functions nor the mms feature on my phone, I do have mms configured on my phone but never really use it.
So, what can We do!? And what should SE do about this?!
I want this fixed, even tho i'm going for the S700 soon.. but I still want this fixed!
And IF the same kinda problems is in S700 its bye bye for SE...
I've been using T68i, T610, Z600 and now these two K700, This is the first SE phone that i've needed to return!
EDIT:
One more thing I allmost forgot, I've called SE Support Call Center today. Ive asked them, the guy there never heard about this kinda problem, so he asked if I was using a old SIM card.. Then I told him its about the same age as my first K700. But he still recommended me to get a new one, just incase. Ok, so I did. Did it help?! Nope..still same sh!t :'(
The one who solves my issue gets an ... hmm .. something neat
