> P900 to P910 Data Transfer
Bookmark topic
Hi there,
I just upgraded from a P900 to a P910 (haven't experienced any real benefits so far...). What really bugs me is that a data restore from the P900 is not possible. I have many SMS that I want to transfer and have tried copying the Mail system folder across, but the P910 doesn't recognise any of the SMS. Also, I want to move across my dictionary (i.e. the words I've added to the T9 dic). Last but not least, I can't seem to be able to find the pictures associated with the contacts anywhere. I deleted the original pics as I thought the little ones must be saved in some folder somewhere, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

Don't know about the other issues, but i am afraid you can't delete the images of your contacts, and still keep them associated with your contacts. the system extracts them every time necceccary (i believe this is the right way to do it, though).

I only deleted the hi res pictures. When you associate a picture with a contact it takes a low res version and stores it somewhere together with the contact, even though you've deleted the original pic. I know it works as all my contact pics are still there. question is only in which folder are they.

It's all part of the Contacts.cdb file in C:/system/Data. It ain't particularly easy to get the photos, if at all.

You can extract the pictures from your contacts, as well as the ringtones, using a little free software called Contact Linker. You can find it at My-Symbiam Website
