> connecting to a Nokia with infared
Bookmark topic
I wanted to send my friend a picture over infared. I tried numerous times but it didnt seem to recognise the device. I once saw a devive found message, but straight away they disconnected and it gave an error message.
I recall I had the same thing happen on a similar nokia phone.
Does anybody know how if they are incompatable?
Also there was a weird interface on the Nokia, I cant remember the model no, but just wondered is there any body who knows how you turn off the infared on a Nokia phone & get rid of the icon on the phone.
Thanks in advance

You can disable nokia ir in settings>connectivity. Not all nokias support object exchange, usually only series 60 ones do, a few series 40 do as well though.

The menu simply activates the IR it should deactivate itself after a period.
Most Nokias don't support transfer of anything other than contacts (business cards) so that is why it doesn't work

I have tested the Nokia 5140 with a K700i. They can transfer melodies, pictures and videos to eachother.
