hi. i am jst wandernig WHEN VODAFONE will allow users to update their firmware on te sony erricson site. currently , they not, (V ANNOYINGG) but i have a feeling they will. could anyone tell me when vodafone will allow firmware update access on the net? and also, will this updating service work with unlocked phones?

please someone tell me! i need to know, because if it works, i can buy that dss sync desk stand to connect the phone up.
i had it with the bugs of the phone. p**ses me off. i cant update it, and get rid of vodafone altogether in the voda shop because they found out i unlocked it (i told them accidently, they would know n e way, right???) and it would cost 40 pounds anyway cos i havent got warrenty.

tell me please! thank you
yours truly.....

you won't be able to upgrade to non-Voda firmware any time soon. At the moment you can't because the Update Service checks your FW against your IMEI, which it knows is Voda-locked.

I take it you have a P910i since you want to use the Update Service (and I don't think Voda locked the 900s) and apparently the Voda branding and FW differences aren't that bad on it (according to Masseur) and there aren't any updates available yet anyway!
