> HBH-200 battery life problem!

Hi all,
Last week I bought a Sony Ericsson bluetooth headset, the HBH-200 directly from the e-shop of SE.
For the last 2 years I was using the HBH-30 which I am very satisfied with, and I wanted to buy a newer one. I was debating between the HBH-65 and the HBH-200. I kind of liked the concept of the HBH-65 a little better, but the only factor that made me buy the HBH-200 was the battery life that was announced by Sony Ericsson and is "up to 3.5 hours" of talktime.
Ok I understand what it means "up to" and is under ideal conditions meaning that you have the headset fully charged, and initiate a call immediately once turned on (no stand by time) and then you can talk for 3.5 hours straight. So far so good.
This is what I did, I am using the headset immediately after a full charge. After 1.5 hours of continious conversation, the headset warns me for low battery, and about 10-15 minutes later the headset turns off. That is after 1:45 of talktime and is exactly the half time that SE announces.
I did this around 4-5 times to see if the battery improves after each charge, but I get the same exact results.
I wanted to find out for other HBH-200 users if they have the same issue. I want to find out if my headset is faulty or if Sony Ericsson is lying or missinforming us!
I am going to return the headset to Sony Ericsson either way. If according to what you say my headset is faulty, I am going to request an exchange, otherwise I will ask for a refund. Because if I knew that my headset would last for less than two hours of continious talk time, I would stick with my HBH-30 which lasts about the same. I don't care about the caller-Id and the other stuff of the HBH-200, I only bought it for the battery life.
Please post your comments, they will be very helpfull because if there are more people with this problem, I will print this pages and officially complain to Sony Ericsson about the incorrect information.

I use hbh65 and have ca 2h talktime with it. As i noticed batt performance depends u make more longer or shorter calls. At longer drains the batt faster of course, as at fones. But at the end the talktime is the same in average at the headset, only standbytime is diff according the usage of it.

I have a HBH-200 and the original HB-20. I can get nearly 4 days of use (working hours) from the HB-20 and just over 2 days use from the newer HBH-200. But I have noticed that after about a month of use I am getting improved battery life from the HBH-200. But I can't, at the moment, see it being as good as the HB-20. I think the LCD display must drain the battery. If battery life is important I suggest you try the Jabra BT250 - very comfortable and good battery life.

I'm an owner of the HBH-200 for nearly a year now. After actively using it for several months after I received it as a gift, I noticed the battery life begin to dwindle.
It's been probrably half a year now, that it's sitting underneath my desk plugged in. The only way I can use it is if it's plugged in and I use it like an extended headset (not a wireless headset).
But if anyone else is experiencing this battery problem and has any ideas, please respond. I'm about ready to chuck it out in the trash and invest in a new headset.
Worked great in the beginning, I like the little earbud form factor, rather than something big and heavy hanging off my ear, especially since I wear glasses.
Now I cannot use my HBH-200 if it's unplugged, and my talk time on it is about 40 min. plugged in. It shuts off after 40 min, even though it's plugged in. Guess it overheats or something. The little thing does get pretty warm. *shrug*
