I had my P900 unlocked / unbranded from Orange. The original CDA was 162004/3 which changed to 162003/5 as a result of unlocking.

Now I see a update available at the SE update website.
I need to clarify the following before I update my firmware, coz if I update and face problems; there seems to be no way here in India that I can find a place to revert back to status quo.
My questions:
(1) Will the update bring back Orange branding? I suppose it does... in which case, what are the implications? Is it just the startup / shutdown screen or any other software which I cannot change / uninstall? Will it affect the way I can use other programs then?
(2) Will the unlocking be retained or will I locked again to Orange? This is most imp to me as if this happens, the phone will be useless for me. In other words is unlocking and unbranding the same thing?
(3) Any other implications? My current Org version is R4B03 and the update is expected to take it to R5B02. Is the upgrade worth it?

Also, how does one find out SE service center's? Is there a webpage to find one? Or another way to locate one here in India?

Too many questions, but very critical before I upgrade. All answers and pointers to relevant threads are welcome. Thanks.

Branding & Locking are different.

Branding is in f/w & is the Networks logos & alterations in the phone.
Locking is just restricting the phone from using other Networks SIMs

If u update the f/w it will not become branded or locked as long as u use SE (unbranded) f/w.
If u update with Orange branded f/w then the branding will return.

There certainly used to be a list of SE Service Centres on the SE Website, try there
