> K700i Will it run without a SIM card?
Bookmark topic
I'm waiting on my K700i. Should be here tomorrow. My new SIM and service stuff won't be here for a few days and I'm wondering if the phone will power up and run without the SIM? My T68 used to just say "INSERT SIM" when it was removed so I'm a bit worried :-\
Otherwise, I have some old SIMs, can I just put those in to use until my new one arrives?

It will be the same as your T68 did.
[EDIT]You should be able to use your other sims as long as the phone is unlocked to them networks.
Are you getting the phone on contract or pay as you go?

It will not work without a sim card. Just put any old sim into it and you'll be able to use all the features.

Okay then. That's major bs how you can't use the phone without a sim. DURR it's unlocked, who the f*** would buy a locked phone ? ? ?
So I'll just cram my Nextel sim in there until the ATT stuff arrives.

Unlocked means it is unlocked to all networks...when a phone is locked to certain networks you can only use sum cards of an operator that is not locked.

The K7 is a phone. That's its purpose. Why would you expect it to work without the bit that makes it a phone?

It'd be like using a landline without a subscription.... ie not working. The SIM card is your sunscription, the phone is just the machine but it does not cmmunicate by istelf.

Lots of people do. It makes economical sense and if you're only gonna use the providers sim card with the phone it's not likely to become a problem.

I think he thinks locked means you cant use any sim in it.
And unlocked means you are allowed to use sims in it
Read my post before where i explained what they mean.

No, I meant carrier locked. Despite my appereance, I'm not a n00bi3.
Anyway. I'll never buy a carrier locked phone, ever.
