The quickest way to lock it is to press the battery icon & press "Lock screen". That's what I do.

Some 3rd party apps such as Tracker or HandyDay offer alternate screen locks assigned to the button of your choice

I had it on the P800 too cos there was no way to lock it normally without the flip or virtual flip. Don't use it on P9 though cos of flip open lock

I always used the Jog dial on both (P800 and P900), You just need to pull ( the menu will appear - the Lock screen is the first option) and press the Jog dial.

Keymapper allows you to assign screen lock to any button, so I used that for a while until I got Tracker. Unfortunately tracker can't assign things to holding the jog forwards/backwards, which is my preference for screen lock.

Also, weirdly, you can assign functions to a single press on the power button, but this seems to prevent you from turning the phone off by holding the power button.... quite annoying.

That only work in flip closed.
