Hi,

I bought the T28 cable for Sony Ericsson mobiles but when I connect my K700i, T610 or T105 I get always a "Didn't recognize usb device".

I have the Sony Ericsson Phone Manager, but I can't connect my mobiles! What's wrong? What I have to do?

Thanks,
Regards,
André.

"Didn't recognize usb device" means the software driver for your USB cable has not been installed, or not properly installed. Obtain the software driver from the cable manufacturer, or download it from http://tech.prolific.com.tw and look for PL-3203 SmartIO I/C

Sorry, my mistake.

My cable is this one:

The English version of the cable in the site of the seller :

http://rede-gsm.com/shop/prod[....]hp?products_id=112&language=en

and the Portuguese one:

http://rede-gsm.com/shop/prod[....]ufacturers_id=&products_id=112

Can anybody help me?

Thanks everyone.

Well, it seems that your cable is a serial (COM port) one, not USB, so:

- ensure that your computer has a free COM port
- check if the port is active (in Control Panel -> System -> Device Manager, if you're using Windows). It must be listed in the Ports section and reported as working ok, if you check its properties
- configure your phone software to connect to the phone using that COM port to which the cable is attached (so the software musn't try to connect through any other connection like USB, IRDA, Bluetooth)

- generally, you don't need any special driver for such a cable, so your phone software should be enough

If no chance for usb, get the rs232 serial. Good luck. This message was posted from a T630

If it is a serial cable, why is it telling you "didn't recognize USB"? You can tell whether the cable is USB or serial by looking at the plug. No driver is needer for serial cable.

Also make sure that the COM port speed is set to 9600. This is done under Device Manager -> Ports

'Cause he has his software configured to connect to the phone through USB, that's why.

I guess the best reference would be
