Hi

If I send my k700 to a service centre to upgrade the firmware how long will they keep the phone? Will they delete all my tones, pics and vids?

Is the new firmware any good? I think I have an original batch of the K700i phones from O2 but can't seem to find my firmware number!

Thanks

My firmware is R2A, is this the old one? What are the differences compared with the new firmware? What do you mean unstable?

I've heard the battery life and camera is improved with the new firmware but don't want to give it to a service centre if I lose all my tones, pix, vids, bookmarks, etc!

Any advice would be good!

Check those two links out, theres a lot of good information there. A firmware flash doesnt take long, if you take it into a store yourself you shouldnt be any longer than say 15 minutes, if they aren't busy. If you send it away, well, who knows

As for losing your data, i'm not too sure, but check the 2 links that @Lembo has kindly searched for and provided for you.

generally there is no loss of data, when you upgrade your firmware. But just a piece of advice is that do make a backup of messages/phone numbers/memo's etc...
