> Sony Ericsson Web Site - P900 firmware
Bookmark topic
Hi all, I was wondering whether it was just me just having trouble downloading the firmware for the P900. I have a WinXP running SP2, McAfee AntiVirus&Firewall and tried to download from the web site to update my firmware to R5B02. But all it says is Unknown Error. I tried emailing support but when you click on the submit button nothing happens and when it did manage to get through I got a response from Sony Reps to keep checking back as it was being fixed..that was about a month ago. I have also tried disabling the firewall and antivirus but it still say the same thing...

I've experienced the same problem and it was the firewall (Norton 2004). I turned it off and then it worked fine. I think the built in firewall in XP is no problem but try to shut it down too if you have problems.

Tried that, disabling Firewall both through McAfee and Windows Security still no joy. I've copied the JAVA script and it says this:

install_package_version=1.15
upgrade_package_version=1.00
Installation up2date!

You reckon it has to be Sonys site, not able to find those files?

I had the same on a K700i. The sony rep just said "There are no problems with the service." I had the "unknown error"............ if they don't know what an "unknown error" is, I damned if I do. It's just cost me £20 for a DSS-25, and it does no more than my bluetooth or IR.....
I've tried turning off virus scanning, etc....
