The more I look at the Sony Ericsson V800, the more I like it. Too bad it's only for Vodafone.

My belief is that nothing is ever exclusive. Remember the black color exclusive of the T630 for the T-mobile? Not anymore. If SE comes out with a clamshell similiar to the V800 and sim-free/brand-free (which I'm pretty sure they will), my K700i is going to my sister. I'll pass on the S700i - yuck!

The sad part is, I only had my K700i for 2 months and I'm ready for a new model. Paid a shit load of money for it too. I guess my friend was right. Cell phones are like women. They get old fast and then there always a better model....

Is this the start of my road down to cell phone geek-dom??? - Switching phones every 2 months???

It could very well be! Slap your thighs, charge your tankard, slap a chum on the back and declare huzzah I say!

as i mentioned before the V800 is (and i quote) "Exclusive at Launch [of 3G] in Europe" to vodafone.

you see, it will be available on other networks!!! as i have said, vodafone will have it exclusive for a period of time...

there is no way SE are going to keep this phone to one network, and plus there are, i'm sorry to say this, better 3G phones on the vodafone launch line up.

maki101; No, V800 is not a budget phone...
It got all that Z1010 got, but with newer parts, and for the first time a "real" design.
And I guess You wouldn't call Z1010 a budget phone according to its price...

(more like LG's are budget, same platform but no memorycard, no bluetooth, etc.)

The V800 won't be exclusive. At least not everywhere. On the Swiss SE site there is no Vodafone branding:
http://www.sonyericsson.com/s[....]1_1_1&zone=pp&lm=pp1&pid=10205
But on the German site there is:
http://www.sonyericsson.com/s[....]1_1_1&zone=pp&lm=pp1&pid=10205

So it may depend on the market...

@slass, no like a budget phone, but like budget phone in high class,
for example cheaper than Sharp
This table from Vodafone Pda document confirm exclusive of Vodafone just to launch in Europe:

i don't think vodafone operates as vodafone in switzerland

don't they cooperate with swisscom?

and have they not released branded models before?
