@BBQ-J

The best way to choose a mobile, in my opinion, is to decide what you will be using it for. One should make a list of what one actually requires from a mobile and then match that up to the candidates available. If the P800 meets all of your brother's requirements then I see no reason why he shouldn't buy on, after all it is still a very respectable piece of technology, especially in the U.S. I would imagine.

The P800 and P900 differ little except in terms of price, form and a few minor improvements to the P900. There is also an American version of the P910 being released; your brother might want to consider that as another option.

I'm still very happy with my T68i. It has Bluetooth, infra-red, datebook, GPRS, calculator, tri-band etc., etc.! It isn't the size or weight of a small brick, either. I think my phone looks gorgeous. And it can be got cheap. The T68i is always worth considering. This message was posted from a T68i

In my opinion, the P800 is currently the most phone you can get for the money. If you can subscribe to a cheap GPRS connection, it enhances tremendously its capabilities and your pleasure using it. I'll definitely stick with mine until the arrival of the 3G phones and the UMTS network, which is scheduled for early 2005 here in France. Then, it's gonna be totally different ballgame!

i've been very happy with my P8 for the last year, so much so that when I had the chance to upgrade, my girlfriend got a new girly phone and i stuck with this. in another year or so i may get a P910 when they're cheap, but for now the P8 is everything i need.

I am also extremely happy with my P800. it can run most software and compensate the "software-extras" of the P9X0. I personally thought a different (electronic) flip, different design, better screen and more memory wasn't worth the extra money. You can always compare the phones here: http://www.esato.com/phones/index.php/phone=33,cp=107,cp2=129

Good luck.
